Meet the
Beneficiaries
(F.I.N.D) – Grant recipient for many years – from smaller scale funding to large, multi-year levels of funding – the tournament has supported F.I.N.D.’s mission of dedication to relieving hunger, the causes of hunger and the problems associated with hunger through awareness, education, and mobilization of resources and community involvement. The funds granted have helped support food insecurity; distribution; collection and most recently the building of F.I.N.D.’s new Workforce Development – which will include naming rights on the building honoring the contribution from “Impact Through Golf and The American Express”
Food in Need of Distribution
Family Y.M.C.A. of the Desert - Most recent funding from ITG and The American Express will help build YMCA’s new Child Development / Outdoor Leaning Center with a muli-year grant. This project will serve children within the Coachella Valley and will be constructed in the City of La Quinta. Family YMCA of the desert is the largest provider of licensed childcare in the Coachella Valley. In addition, provides many opportunities in youth and family programs.
Family Y.M.C.A. of the Desert
Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Desert –This local organization builds and supports one-to-one mentoring relationships that ignite the biggest possible futures for Coachella Valley youth. Serve youth between the ages of 6 – 18 with two core mentoring programs: Community-Based and Site-Based. Funds from the 2024 tournament will be used to help support east valley expansion. If the organization raises matching funds, they will receive an additional grant in 2025.
Big Brothers Big Sisters
Coachella Valley Rescue Mission – Serves local Coachella Valley people experiencing homelessness, hunger and life changes through emergency services, recovery programs and community outreach – hot meals, safe shelter, medical care, clothing and vocational training. Most recent funding was used for their Women & Children’s shelter expansion program, adding 60 additional beds for women and children.
Coachella Valley Rescue Mission
Coachella Valley Boxing Club - provides a positive path for at-risk youth in the eastern valley through boxing, fitness, and mentorship—focusing on building strong athletes and future leaders. Founded by Lee Espinoza, who was honored by Congress in 2022 for his community impact, the club continues to inspire, with standout athletes like Citalli Ortiz representing the valley in the 2024 Paris Olympics. Grant funding helps sustain and grow this vital program.
Coachella Valley Boxing Club
Three Boys & Girls Clubs - serve youth across Palm Springs, Cathedral City, La Quinta, Indio, Coachella, and Mecca. Grant funding to the Boys & Girls Clubs of Cathedral City, Palm Springs, and the Coachella Valley has supported vital programs over the years—ranging from education and STEM to tech, afterschool activities, scholarships, and intergenerational gardens. United in mission, these clubs work to uplift Coachella Valley youth, offering hope, opportunity, and the tools to reach their full potential. The tournament has proudly supported these efforts for many years.
Boys & Girls Clubs
First Tee of the Coachella Valley – Impacts the lives of young people by providing educational programs that build character, instill life-enhancing values and provide healthy choices through the game of golf. Long time partner of the tournament, young people participate as standard bearers. Most recent funding used to assist with after school programs.

Girlfriend Factor – Local Coachella Valley Organization established in 2006 assists women in getting back on track to achieve their economic goals and dreams through continued education. GFF provides educational and renewable grants for undergraduate degrees and occupational certificates to motivated adult women which will lead them to a chosen employment path. Through the foundation and the tournament grant funding has been provided to assist with scholarship funding.
Girlfriend Factor
Hunter Lopez Memorial Foundation – The foundation strives to help those who serve and protect our country. Falls under the category of Youth, Education and Family Support. Hunter Lopez, a local Coachella Valley Resident, was killed in action in 2017 while a US Marine. Hunter’s family continue to honor Hunter and carry out his mission of helping others through their foundation. Funds have been used to assist marine families with emotional support dogs, graduation attendance, scholarship money to elementary school students who show exemplary character and essentials needs of marine families.
Hunter Lopez Memorial Foundation
JFK/Ophelia Project – Ophelia Project through JFK Memorial Foundation provides transformative programs and resources designed to restore hope, improve heath and expand opportunity for vulnerable, disadvantaged girls throughout the Coachella Valley. This program is making a huge difference by empowering young, at-risk girls to realize their full potential. Program has 100% graduation success rate. Was named 2024 PGA TOUR Charity of the Year. Funding used to provide academic scholarships.
JFK / Ophelia Project
Jewish Family Services – Provides social service needs for the community of the Coachella Valley. Health & Wellness category. Funding provided by ITG/The American Express were used to continue to increase current and future mental health services for all residents in need in the Coachella Valley.

As the charity organization of The American Express®, the Impact Through Golf Foundation selects their annual beneficiaries through a carefully administered review process. Please note, during the 2025 grant cycle, the Foundation will continue to prioritize larger levels of support to a smaller number of local organizations. We regret that we may not be able to continue our support for organizations that have previously received funding through this grant program. Therefore, we encourage applicants to focus their applications on large-scale projects or multi-year initiatives that meet the criteria listed within the greater Coachella Valley area. We look forward to continuing our long history of support for non-profits serving the Coachella Valley.

Grant Cycle Opens
- Qualify as a 501(c)3 tax-exempt public charity, with 501(c)3 status that has been active for at least two years
- Provide services within the Coachella Valley Area
- Provide programming benefiting Capital Improvement/Legacy Projects, Natural Disaster recovery, rebuilding support and preparedness, Education, Youth and Family support services, Health and Wellness or Homelessness.
- Proof of Annual operating budget of $250,000 or above
